Recognizing that strong leaders drive the future of the produce industry, the Tip Murphy Scholarship for Leadership Excellence supports young professionals in our industry by advancing their careers through the development of leadership skills. The scholarship is funded by generous contributions along with proceeds from the Tip Murphy Memorial Golf Tournament.

The Tip Murphy Scholarship for Leadership Excellence was created in 2008 to honor the life and career of Tip Murphy, a beloved 15 year veteran of the produce industry.

The scholarship covers the cost of registration and associated hotel expenses for one of a growing number of PMA and PMA Foundation programs & events including:

PMA’s Fresh Summit
PMA’s Foodservice Conference & Exposition
PMA Foundation Emerging Leaders Program
PMA Foundation Women’s Fresh Perspectives Conference
PMA Foundation High Performance Management Conference

To be eligible, candidates must:

Meet any criteria established for the program or event selected.
Be willing to share his/her experience at the Tip Murphy Memorial Golf Tournament, held Monday, September 8, 2014 (flight and hotel paid).
Be willing to recruit future applicants for this scholarship opportunity.
